Free Wordpress Theme: WP-PortalTheme
WP-PortalTheme Orange is the first free theme released by Portal Labs. It is a lightweight, XHTML Valid, 2-column, fixed width theme in a pretty shade of orange (our signature color).
It is widget ready and features a 2×2 ad block in the right sidebar for up to 4 125×125 banner ads.
In future versions we plan to include a theme options page with color scheme picker and an assortment of additional color schemes complete with header graphic and styles.

Thank you for your WP-Portal theme. I choose it for the website of an organization that I have been helping. (I can’t post the link because the site is not live yet, but I can forward it to you privately if you like.) I have a question about changing the page order in the dp_list_pages function which is used to list the pages in the header and footer. I would like to have the pages listed by page order rather than title. Can you please tell me what I need to change in the functions.php file to have that happen?

Hi Shaney,
here the solution I found on a russian site.
Please modify the function dp_list_pages in file functions.php in the theme directory.
At the end of the $querystr is the ORDER BY statement. If you change the default statement to
… ORDER BY $wpdb->posts.menu_order ASC”; … it will work proberly.

Hi. Very nice theme. I would like to be able to use wp-portaltheme green. How can I add my logo to the header, to show up in front of the blog name? Also, how do I change the font of the page name (it’s too big, especially on my static front page.) Thanks!

This is a wonderful theme. Thank you so much. I also appreciate the comments in your code…it made it very easy to modify. I do have one question, just above your search box there is the text “Search for:”. How do I get rid of that text? It seems redundant since “Search” is also written inside the search box as well as on the button.

Thanks for the great theme; am currently getting ready to launch my blog on it.
Question, though – When I’m in my WP dashboard, under Widgets, it says I’m using no widgets; and if I try to add any of the ‘available widgets,’ it clears out the ones you’ve built into the theme (sponsors, categories, etc.) How do I make them work together?

Hello, great layout. It doesn’t seem to have an active XML (thus RSS enabled) feed. Any suggestions to work around this so it can be subscribed to?

Thank you for the theme. I cannot edit this theme through the wp admin interface. I think I accidentally deleted something. That isn’t what I am asking about.
No matter what I do, a page called “Home” is added. I cannot seem to a) delete it, b) edit it so that it acts like a static page. I have set my settings to start up with a static page, and that doesn’t work either. It duplicates the same content from my Page 1.
Really I would like to take it off. Where do I edit that?

Hi, I am using your word press portal.. wp-portal… I am wondering if the fonts can be changed? Also, I like the pages across the top, but I only want 7 or so. especially as the second line is really tight. But I want a lot of pages, is there a trick to it? Right now I am using posts, which works but I need to beat the page thing

Hi there,
I have 2 quick questions:
1. Is there any way you can stop this theme from only showing the excerpt on the main index page? I’d rather show whole posts.
2. Is there any way of having the date in an alternative font size? I’ve tried adding a post h4 in the CSS and then using in relevant pages but I find then that the post inherits the h4 font size, regardless of the fact that that the h4 is closed.

Okay I solved the full post issue as follows:
1. Go to the Editor for index.php.
2. Search for this line:
3. Replace it with:
Still no way of changing the font size on dates.
I’m also finding that ALL attempts at using any CAPTCHA or captcha-free plugins is causing errors. Not happy about this. Any advice appreciated. .

You guys make nice themes. A fwe small adjustments or options and they will be on the best of category.
Thought you should know your link in the post to your theme is broken, well kind of.. It links to wordpress themes, not to your theme on wordpress.org – fyi

I’m a novice – but can “hit and miss” my way to success on most tech stuff…but I’m having trouble figuring out how to put in ads. Could you point me to the code in the blog….where to do that? Also – if i wanted to completely take out the ads… ?

I LOVE this template! Thanks so much for offering it! I am partially computer literate…enough to have gotten as far as I have on tailoring the website so far. I have 2 questions (for the moment)
1) How can I show the whole post, currently it says “Read more”
2) On the navigation bar it says Home, then the next one says Page, then a little circle, then Blog
I’d like it to read ” Home Blog Whatever Whatever Whatever ” without the page and the little bubble?

when i add some widgets and i check my site, the sponsor link 125×125 4 link (side bar) is replace with the Widgets installed.

Love the theme. The header images suffer from too much compression though (many artifacts); I wonder if next time you update the theme, if you lower the compression of the images a bit, to improve their clarity. Thanks!

Hey, love the layout. Just dropping yo a line to let you know I am currently using this theme on the new Non-Profit Baking For Our Soldiers website. I ended up changing it somewhat to better fit the theme needed for the website itself. Your links were left in place as well as an additional link back here, and a tag added in that I have altered the original design. Thanks for providing a great layout with a PSD, makes things so much simpler.
