Large Scale Web Applications
Digital Product Delivery (DPD)
Portal Labs is the development company behind Digital Product Delivery- a service to automatically deliver paid downloadable products. DPD automates product sales for download vendors
Built using the Symfony MVC framework and the Propel ORM, Digital Product Delivery is a scalable service that delivers thousands of products ranging from small ebooks to 2GB+ video files. DPD supports hundreds of both paid and free users each month. Portal Labs developed the application, designed the site and user interface, and currently operate the DPD service.
Listingbook
Listingbook is a web site for buyers, sellers and real estate agents to make the buying or selling of a home as easy as possible. Listingbook currently serves 25M+ pages per month and has 5 MLS systems installed with another 10 on the way.
Projects of note include the design and implementation of an MVC framework to speed development, design and implementation of property search results display using the Google Maps API, database design and upgrade from Sybase to Postgres, load balancing and performance tuning, and source control implementation.
Urban Daddy
Portal Labs is handling the ongoing project of implementing a new custom CMS design for Urban Daddy, a daily email magazine devoted to keeping you in the know on city life.
This large scale project maintains sites for seven major metropolitan areas and features thousands of users nationwide.
Little Engine
Portal Labs is the exclusive development partner of Little Engine, a small business networking site. Portal Labs maintains the codebase and develops all new features for Little Engine.
Little Engine is based on the Symfony MVC framework and features thousands of small business listings
Foodzie
Foodzie is a Web 2.0 startup that provides a marketplace for specialty and gourmet food vendors to sell their stock online. Portal Labs is handling feature development for Foodzie including a custom 3rd party tax API integration.
Foodzie is developed using the Ruby on Rails framework as well as php, .net, and java libraries.

Hazard Control Technologies
HCT is a specialized firefighting chemicals and equipment manufacturer that develops products and services for the municipal, power, and industrial markets.
Designed a custom quote-to-order system, online catalog system, video and content delivery system, light CMS, and protected distributor resource area. Integrated existing quoting, CRM, and accounting systems and used Drupal and Magento Commerce open-source packages to speed development and provide significant cost savings over custom development from scratch. Developed a custom unmetered hosting solution for media delivery.
Colours Decorating
Colours Decorating is a local painting and home repair company in the Greensboro, NC area.
Developed and designed a corporate web site to the customers specifications. Site is built on the Symfony application framework and includes CRM editing features and interactive contact and quote request forms. In addition to the development and design of Colours Decorating, Portal Labs provides managed hosting services and customer support.
